- It means 'Red Castle'. It is located on a hill overlooking the city of Granada, in Spain. It was designed as a grand Fort Palace for the Moorish Kings of Grenada. It had a heavily fortified wall more then a mile in perimeter. It was notable for the elegance, and the richness of its ornamentation.
