- It is the synthesis of the basic tenets of Hinduism andIslam - the unity of which was the main object of its founder Guru Nankanaji, Gum Nanak preached belief in one God and condemned rituals and cast system. The sacred places for Sikhs are Amritsar, (India), Nankana Sahib (Pakistan), Anandpur Sahib (india). Their Holy book is called Granth
